Holy Martyrs Catholic Church

Stations of the Cross

The Stations of the Cross are an important part of the prayer life at Holy Martyrs. Although we do not have stations in our worship space, our prayer path that winds through the woods beginning outside the Bishop Oscar Romero Chapel is lined with crosses that bear plaques commemorating the events that occurred during Jesus’ Passion and death on Good Friday. Visitors and parishioners are invited to use booklets containing various forms of the Stations of the Cross found in a literature rack in the entryway to the church for praying the stations.

We also hold Stations of the Cross on Friday evenings during Lent. One of these is a moving Living Stations of the Cross put on by our youth; the others are powerful audio-visual Stations of the Cross that draw from some of the greatest pieces of art in history depicting the events of Good Friday. We invite you to come to any or all of these profound times of prayer and devotion.

During Lent 2016, Stations of the Cross will be held on the following dates:

  • Friday, February 12, 2016 at 7 p.m.
  • Friday, February 19, 2016 at 7 p.m.
